Well this is certainly interesting. With a title called New Yorker, it does feel like how a New Yorker is represented none the less. It seems you’ve taken lines from various characters/mediums, and drew them all together in this splash page. I do like how we can easily follow what they’re saying, and making our way down the text bubbles, will easily follow what’s going on. The sketchiness of the entire peace looks great, and goes well with what’s happening here.
I do however would have liked to have seen the character interact with the other version of them self within the comic. An example of this would have been them saying: “I’m walkin’ here!” and looking down at the manhole version of themselves. Also, this looks a little bit crowded, and I feel it could have been stretched out a bit more to give it a bit more room, and look more evenly. The character on the bottom isn’t colored like the rest.
Overall though, since it’s a simple sketch from what I take it, it’s very nice and I like how you’ve managed it. It’s very nice and I like the various expressions of the character. It’s as if they’re trying to act like a New Yorker, or are going through their various “New Yorker” phrases. It’s easy to read, and we can see what or how the character is feeling in each expression. You’ve got them nailed down just right. And lol, that manhole one, nice. I wonder where those hot dogs are coming from if he’s in the sewer…. Turtle meat anyone? XD
Keep up the amazing work.
